Women healthcare executives invited to participate in call for panelists
Solvang, Calif. (Sept. 22, 2008)– The X2 Healthcare Network (X2HN), a nonprofit organization of women healthcare executives representing more than 50 companies from all facets of healthcare, welcomes Health 2.0 conference co-founder, Indu Subaiya, M.D., as the keynote speaker at the upcoming 2009 X2HN Xscape annual meeting Feb 11-13 in Las Vegas.
The two-day event designed to build understanding and insight into innovations changing the healthcare industry will feature a combination of presentations, panels and networking opportunities. Dr. Subaiya’s Health 2.0 presentation will showcase emerging companies in vertical search, social networking applications and web-based tools for consumer healthcare.
A limited number of panelist opportunities are available for women healthcare executives and physicians:
• Panel One: The Elusive PHR - Is There a Tipping Point?
Wendy Angst, strategic leader for CapMed, has been instrumental in the creation of the patent-pending Personal HealthKey personal health record, will facilitate the Elusive PHR panel. While the value of a care record is clearly understood by patients and physicians alike, standards and adoption have been slow to materialize. This panel will explore the drivers and solutions that promise nationwide PHR adoption.
• Panel Two: Physician/Patient Online Communication – Does It Pay?
The conundrum of reimbursed and non-paid online patient/physician communication through e-mails, patient portals or other innovative communication technologies, will be discussed in a second panel, which is open to women physicians and representative vendors.
Participants will also benefit from training to improve personal and professional effectiveness as women executives. Victoria Pynchon Esq., a well-respected educator and author of the Settle It Now Negotiation Blog and founder of the IP ADR Blog, will share negotiation skills acquired from a 25-year career in complex commercial litigation and trial work.
According to Gale Wilson-Steele, chairwoman of the X2HN board of directors, “We busy, sometimes overwhelmed, executives consistently are amazed by the rejuvenation and inspiration we receive from spending these few days with each other, exploring new ideas and building a trusted and vital network.”
X2HN members represent healthcare providers, product and service vendors, payer organizations, and patient advocates. These executives are dedicated to fostering immediate and lasting solutions to the healthcare crises facing America.
